About Miscalculated Mortgages

This is all about mis-sold mortgages, right?2024-03-09T14:36:42+00:00

Wrong. We’re not talking about mis-sold mortgages, but mortgages where the interest may have been calculated incorrectly at the outset, meaning that you’ve overpaid, possibly for years (as well as paying unnecessary fees).

Should I really be worried about this?2024-03-09T14:36:55+00:00

Yes, because the systematic overcharging of agreed interest rates and fees over the duration of a mortgage is widespread.

Is chasing miscalculated mortgage interest payments really worth it?2024-03-09T14:37:10+00:00

Yes. When you consider that some mortgages can last decades, there’s the potential for a considerable sum being owed to the homeowner — a significant payout possibly amounting to thousands of pounds.

Does this only apply to my current property?2024-03-09T14:37:31+00:00

No; it can apply to any previous mortgaged property you’ve had.

I live in Spain. Can I make a claim on a UK property from here?2024-03-09T14:45:24+00:00

Yes, anyone can claim from abroad. Simply start a claim here.

How much money in overpaid interest can I recover?2024-03-09T14:38:35+00:00

All of it. And remember, we only deduct our fee if your claim is successful.

How do you do it?2024-03-09T14:41:18+00:00

Our dedicated team has decades of combined experience in the Claims Sector, and is equipped with the skills, knowledge and tools required to establish if a mortgage has been miscalculated. We then work out what your mortgage should be and recover your overpayments for you.

Why do you do this?2024-03-25T14:51:21+00:00

Because it’s what we at Find Your Claims do best. Also, we understand that a financial miscalculation can leave victims feeling highly stressed and deeply upset; therefore, we want to play our part in righting the wrong, through helping as many mortgage miscalculation victims as possible across the UK to receive the compensation that they deserve.

What makes you so good at it?2024-03-25T14:51:37+00:00

We have substantial experience in the claims field. We’re experts at finding mortgage miscalculation cases and the uncovering of undisclosed commissions.

And is all client information suitably protected throughout the claiming process?2024-03-09T14:43:01+00:00

Yes.

I hate reading through Terms & Conditions; I struggle to understand all that small print. Can I leave that to you as well?2024-03-09T14:43:51+00:00

Yes. To save you the bother, we’ll determine whether your agreed mortgage offer, and Terms and Conditions, have been rigorously adhered to.

What about interest on my owed money?2024-03-09T14:44:10+00:00

When reclaiming your overpaid interest, you’re also claiming interest on your owed amount, plus an additional 8% statutory interest added. We’ll recover all that for you, too.

Might I receive nothing at all?2024-03-09T14:44:23+00:00

It’s possible. Some claims are unsuccessful, simply because no overpaid interest has occurred.

How do I know that your fees are fair?2024-03-25T14:53:48+00:00

Our fees are regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). We think you’ll find them reasonable, and well worth paying once your recovered money materialises.

Why is recovering miscalculated mortgage interest being celebrated as “The next PPI!”?2024-03-09T14:44:59+00:00

PPI was incredibly successful, with thousands of people everywhere receiving payments. Investigating possible mortgage miscalculations – and recovering overpaid interest – has the potential to be just as effective. Countless claimants have already had their hard-earned cash recovered; so, make sure you recover yours.

About Plevin PPI

Is making a claim for Plevin PPI even worth it?2024-03-09T14:45:41+00:00

Yes. Thanks to the Plevin ruling, many people have already made successful claims.

But I knew about this commission, so does that rule me out of making a claim?2024-03-09T14:46:20+00:00

No. Whether you knew about the high commission being charged or not doesn’t matter; you can still make a claim.

What’s the difference between PPI and Plevin PPI, then?2024-03-09T14:46:40+00:00

A Plevin PPI claim isn’t addressing whether an insurance policy was mis-sold (that’s PPI: Payment Protection Insurance mis-selling), but instead considers if a secret commission was paid to the lender, i.e., a commission NOT disclosed to you. This is wrong and should be paid back to you.

If I start a Plevin PPI claim with you, am I guaranteed money?2024-03-09T14:46:56+00:00

No. But if you have a valid case, there’s a possibility that you’ll receive a repayment.

I’m worried that I may have left things too late. Is there a deadline on claiming?2024-03-09T14:47:15+00:00

Unlike with PPI, there’s no deadline on claiming, meaning that it’s not too late to claim. More specifically, although the deadline for making a PPI claim was August 2019, if you took out credit for a PPI after the 6th April 2007 (or before 2007) and continued to pay it after 6th April of 2008, then it’s worth you putting in a claim for Plevin PPI.

Can I make a Plevin PPI claim if I had PPI but didn’t make a claim?2024-03-09T14:47:25+00:00

Yes.

My past claim for PPI (a mis-sold policy) was unsuccessful. That means there’s no point in me claiming for Plevin PPI, right?2024-03-09T14:47:47+00:00

Wrong. Even if a past claim for PPI by you was rejected, you can still apply for Plevin.

I made a successful PPI claim but only received a partial refund; so, can I make a Plevin PPI claim?2024-03-09T14:47:57+00:00

I bought PPI but had a claim rejected by the seller, and then the Financial Ombudsman Service.2024-03-09T14:48:41+00:00

That doesn’t matter. You should still make a claim for Plevin PPI with us TODAY.

The PPI I bought was not actually mis-sold, but I wasn’t told about excessive commission.2024-03-09T14:49:03+00:00

You should still make a claim.

If my Plevin PPI claim is successful, what happens then?2024-03-09T14:49:17+00:00

After we’ve deducted our fee, you can look forward to receiving a lump sum cheque (including any interest on your money) or have your insurance policy payments significantly reduced.

What is the average Plevin PPI payout?2024-03-09T14:49:28+00:00

£3000

Just remind me again, what’s the gist of this Plevin PPI thing?!2024-03-25T11:32:24+00:00

OK. If more than 50% of your PPI’s payments went as commission and this was not explained to you at the time, you could claim back payments above that threshold, plus interest. And the best place to do that is right here.

Why are these claims called ‘Plevin’ PPI claims?2024-03-09T14:50:57+00:00

Ms Susan Plevin went to court in 2014, arguing that she wasn’t informed about the secret commission deducted from her payment, and she won.

How do I know that your fees are fair?2024-03-25T14:53:50+00:00

Our fees are regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). We think you’ll find them reasonable, and well worth paying once your recovered money materialises.
